A Good Idea

Description

The Rum River Bicycle Classic is one part of an overall program promoting a way of life that integrates physical activity into each day. Some of the program's key activities include implementing safe routes to school, creating biking and walking maps throughout the community, and planning and promoting programs and events. The Bicycle Classic raises money for these activities and emphasizes the "bikeability" of the area.

Goal / Mission

The mission of this project is to provide leadership in promoting environments that offer choices for Active Living.

Results / Accomplishments

Over 220 riders participated in the second annual Rum River Bicycle Classic. Isanti County Active Living attracted cash sponsorship of over $6,000 for the event and in-kind sponsors who provided food and beverages. The enthusiastic volunteers included newcomers and veterans of the annual bike ride.
